Update on my Portfolio Blog (you will have to scroll down) - This is old stuff from my internship in VW Design Center Potsdam. After the Volkswagen 2028 website finally has been released last year, I am now allowed to show some of the work I did during this project. I was responsible for the interior design of the room concept shown in the rendering beneath.

Today I received my souvenir-package from Japan. The Cheapest shipping method took about 6 month to get to Germany. I guess they travelled on the back of a donkey through mongolia.. Anyways I found this great Gundam Model Book and I bought some of the Gundam toys.

Hey I'm back from my vacation in Asia. After all the planning and hundreds of tips from everybody we spend some days in and around Tokyo and the rest of the time in Thailand. Japan was really expensive, since I spend a lot of money on Gundams and Sushi, but it was well worth it! Tokyo is one of the cleanest cities I have ever seen, everything seems to have a very strict order but people are still very helpful and polite. Thailand was the extreme opposite of that - messy, filthy and unfriendly. But still they have nice beaches where they serve you cold beer - yuhuuu! Porsche Museum

The new Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen is definitely worth a visit! Very nice selection of mainly classic and some contemporary Porsches. You can see all the legends like the Gulf 917 or the 908s as well as some rarities. The building itself with its futuristic exterior and the minimalist interior is a perfect setting for the cars.

Finally!
After four and a half years at Pforzheim University I finished my studies in Transportation Design.
My final degree project was the design of a 1 Liter Race Car for VW. I've worked on this project from beginning of october untill mid of january. And now that I need a job in the car industry they all go bankrupt - nice! I will post more details and Pictures soon. Race on!

Freakin' massive snowfalls in Vorarlberg!
What you can see on the cars in the pictures fell during one day!! From three in the morning till eight in the evening. We had to shovel snow several times since the snowplough buried our walkway again and again. I can't remember such crazy snowfalls for a long time. And on the next day the sun was shining again but I had to drive home...

Inspired by Top Gears list of best movie chase scenes I've collected some more videos. This shoud be a beautiful waste of time, at least for an hour or so!
To shorten this post I just continue with the links in no particular order instead of embeaded videos:

Bugatti EB-T concept

The whole front end slides open, performing a spectacular ceremony in the places where the owners can really show off - For example in front of Hotels, Golf Clubs etc.. Besides that the car features two Turbines, one on each side of the car which support the standard electric engine above speeds of 400km/h to boost the performance to an impressive land speed record braking level for street legal cars. A car with extraordinary performance, impressive status und sheer lunacy, truly worth the famous Bugatti badge.

Baja Racer

This is one of the projects I've worked on during my internship in VWs California Studio DCC. The sketches show the first stage of the design and concept development of this years VW concept for the LA Design Challenge. The vehicle is operated by two persons. One is controlling the steering and the position of the wheels with motorcycle like grips, the other one is the navigator. He adjusts the buggys weight balance during big jumps and checks the track with his stereo periscope. The concept merges the racing heritage of Volkswagen with the motorcycle origin of the Baja Race. After just a few more weeks in the highly talented hands of Patrick this is what grew out of my idea.

For those who don't know - The Baja 1000 is an endurance Race along the mexican baja california peninsula. It's 1000 miles long and the racetrack is open to public. Link to Baja 1000 History on wiki.

Got Bike

Finally - my...4th bike. I just had to get my own fixed gear after some of the most beautiful bikes were always standing next to my desk in DCC. The frame is an Affinity - a small NY based frame builder. I tried to keep the colours in what I would call "urban camo". No shine - no crime. The matte grey perfectly blends into the city environment but the track bike inspired geometry still keeps it a little eye catching. Quick, stiff ride - love it!
